Sometimes Violence is the Answer

If one more person tells me "Get used to it" or "You think it's bad now" I'm going to punch them in the face.

For example, we had a crappy neighbor night last night consisting of fire trucks and RockBand playing full blast at 2:00am. I think I'm entitled to be a little tired this morning. However, apparently I'm not allowed to be tired because I should "get used to it" because if "You think you're tired now wait until Bit arrives". REALLY?!?...Really?!? I'm not going to get as much sleep after Bit arrives? I had no idea! Thank you for sharing your words of wisdom with me.

I'm telling you PUNCH IN THE FACE!

And they are wrong. If your baby is anything like our Bird, you will get loads more sleep when he/she arrives than you do while pregnant. At the end of pregnancy, I was up every 40 minutes peeing. Or moaning with aches and pains. Post birth, newborn time is INCREDIBLE in comparison!!!!

Sleep...such a provoking subject. I didn't sleep while I was pregnant, didn't sleep when the boys were born, and god help the person who told me to get used to it! I say punch them, you can blame the hormones! People are jerks...

But, know that it gets better... last night the lil one slept 12 hours! BLISS!

Awww, isn't that sweet for them to give you such crappy unsolicited advise?

I say go ahead and punch them!!! You can't be held accountable, you're pregnant!

Sorry you have to deal with that stupidity.

Obviously, none of us gave any THOUGHT to the idea of becoming parents. It's not like we went to any extreme measures to get pregnant, right? I mean, prenancy just happens... HA!

I'm right there with you. And while we're at it, no strangers had better touch my belly or they WILL get a fist in the face.

I think we could create a nice book of what people say to women struggling with ttc and then now during pregnancy. It's like "shut the fuck up people."

Hmmm, I think a retort such as-

Well, since it will be so much worse later and I have such a great excuse now, I'm sure you will forgive me later for what I'm going to say to you now: Please feel free to cease and desist with the condescending bitch comments!

-is in order

That used to annoy the crap out of me too. And, yes there were many tired days, but I never minded the tiredness as much when it was the result of my child. She was a good sleeper, but all babies wake up. Still, though I was tired, I could appreciate that it was for a wonderful reason and it was not as bad as I thought.
I do know many who say it was much harder then they thought, and they thought they would go crazy, but still, being up with your child crying is much different than being up from an annoying neighbor.
Hope you get some rest soon.

I think I actually got more sleep after Trucker arrived because I could finally sleep on my stomach and he only woke up twice each night. Cakie screamed all night, though. I hope you get a sleeper!

After you punch them in the face, I would kick them in the knee caps. That would REALLY prove your point. People are stupid.

Count me in... lets take them all out... but I think you need to start with the Rock band players. lol
I've come to the conclusion that sleep may be a distant memory HOWEVER I know it will be better with our LO. No more heartburn or sore parts and a cute little baby.

And also, at least you can get COMFORTABLE to sleep after the baby arrives!

People are idiots. And if you think they're annoying with advice now, just wait until the baby arrives... ;)

There were two things that I HATED hearing when I was pregnant.
1. You just wait, appreciate your time now..yadda yadda

2. You will learn that your dogs are just dogs.

Even though, I was exhausted the first year of Jacob's life, I am happier than ever. The joy that your little bit will bring out weighs everything! I never stopped loving my dogs, there were days in the beginning that I had to readjust but that is such a short time. I think the dogs think they are human and jacob thinks he is a dog. go figure. Let me know when you want to punch people, too.

Won't it be great if you DO get more sleep once the baby comes? It's entirely possible. Still, I don't know why people have to say stupid shit. I was so very tired of the "Oh just wait" types of comments, and I came very close to punching many people in the face. It would be well deserved if you did it!
